New Title: The Game

Sometimes, one story gives you an idea for another. In this case, there was a smaller story I did for The Black Room called Luna. It made me think about a different angle to that story, in which a person has their personality overwritten by another. And that's how we got The Game.

Black Room members, this title is now available to download in the members' area.
If you're familiar with past stories, you know that one common trope I love is mind-fuckery. Mind control, hypnosis, conditioning, and personality modification are all things I really enjoy writing. Most of my stories are narratives about change, how a character becomes someone new either by choice or by circumstance.
In this latest novel, we meet Kiki, a rebellious 19-year-old who despises everything about the corporate system she lives under. She idolizes the punk band Daft Cunt, whom she sees as the only ones who really get her.
And now, Daft Cunt is going on tour, and they've got a show only a couple of hours away! Kiki scrapes by selling online commissions for artwork, and her parents are on her about getting a real job. Therefore, Kiki has little money. When she gets a pop-up offering free tickets just for playing a choose-your-own-adventure game, it seems like the solution she needs. Just play a dumb game and get tickets. What could be easier?
But things start going wrong from the beginning. This game isn't like anything she's ever played. First, there are the constant bright pink flashes, the weird hypnotic waves in the background she can't look away from. The little cartoon avatar looks like her because she had to take a photo to start the game. Despite the avatar's bubbly, bimbo appearance, Kiki can't stop playing. She doesn't want to miss out on the tickets.
When the app gives her a chance to advance and get the tickets faster by downloading a companion app called Sleep Sounds, she does it without hesitation. Then there's another app with bonus prizes and stars, where she has to spin-to-win. And if she just downloads the YouTunes app and reviews some songs, she can get the ultimate package: backstage passes.
By the next day, the app stack is bombarding her with subliminal messages and hypnotic suggestions, and she seems to have lost control of her autonomy. The things happening in the game are playing out in real life. She's going by her real name, Lucille, and she's acting more and more like the little pink avatar in the game.

Chapter One: The Game
Kiki got it. The posers in the Daft Cunt forums didn't. All these losers talked about were the hardcore beats, the leather clothes, the energy. Sure, the band was those things, but it wasn't who they really were.
It just proved to Kiki that the vast majority of the fanbase weren't really in it for the message. They didn't understand the meaning. Daft Cunt wasn't just another punk band. They fucking got it.
The world was a shithole, filled with zombies, all of them just going about their day in a fog. They put in work in shitty offices, full of shitty people, producing shitty garbage for other shitty people to buy up. The shitty garbage never made them happy. They just did it like they were little machines—because they were supposed to. They were just as bad as any of the patriarchal fucksticks that made up the majority of society.
Tonight, however, Kiki cared less about the trolls' activities than about the imminent announcement. Daft Cunt was going on tour, and the announcement of the dates and cities was only minutes away. The fan forum filled more quickly as the minutes passed.
Her eyes flicked to the corner of her phone screen and watched as the final minute ticked over. Seconds later, a new thread appeared at the top, pinned.
Daft Cunt is on tour motherfuckers! Check the dates and locations here!
Kiki tapped the thread, and her fingers shook as the overloaded server struggled to render the page. Then she was in. She scrolled the list of tour dates, stopping at one two weeks away. It was close, so close, barely a two-hour drive!
A pop-up blocked the screen. Kiki's finger moved to close it, but she read the words first.
"Want free tickets to see Daft Cunt?"
Kiki did want free tickets. The pop-up's swirling pink background and the jiggling, happy letters were mesmerizing. She watched the letters bounce and pulse against the pink waves as her finger hovered over the link. She tapped.
The browser opened a new page, this one black with the same pink waves moving so slowly in the background.
"You're entering to win two tickets to any Daft Cunt tour date of your choosing," the page proclaimed. "All you need to do is complete one of our new Choose Your Own Adventure stories! Hurry! Limited tickets available."
Choose Your Own Adventure? Seriously?
"Ready to start your story?" the screen asked. "Click here to view the library!"
There had to be some catch. A pair of tickets, though? Worth it. She clicked the link.
The screen flashed, a quick series of three bright pulses. The pink lines in the background seemed to grow, but it was just an optical illusion as they pulled her eyes down a long, swirling pink tunnel. She couldn't look away.
The tunnel spat her out onto a grid of images, each one a story title. There were six to choose from. Kiki looked over the choices, then caught herself. Limited tickets available. If this pop-up had been shown to everyone on the site, thousands of people would probably already be clicking it.
Another popup. "Select three interests, and we'll customize the library for you!"
Kiki selected drawing, music, and movies. Another dialogue popped up.
"Tell us a little about yourself! Do you have any siblings?"
Kiki selected yes, brother, and a quantity of one. The pop-up swirled away, and the library appeared.
She tapped one of the covers, the anticipation building in her gut. All she had to do was click through it as fast as possible, get ahead of the others, and secure her tickets. The book's cover filled the screen, the happy letters on the front jiggling like cheerful little worms.
The image on the cover came alive with an animation, depicting a pretty blonde girl in a short pink dress, her cleavage spilling over the neckline. The title read, "The Pretty Pink Princess." Kiki's fingers trembled as they hovered over the screen, waiting for the animation to complete. The girl on the cover stopped and looked right at her.
"Oh, hey there!" she said, "I'm___," and the animation paused. An input box popped up.
"Please enter your legal first name. Do not use a nickname. To claim your tickets, you must provide your legal name."
Kiki sighed, her cheeks coloring as she typed, "Lucille."
It was such a stupid name, a girly name, a poser's name.
"I'm Lucille," the blonde avatar said. "Are you like ready to go on a super fun adventure with me?"
Two choices appeared. Yes. No. Kiki clicked. Yes.
"Ohmygosh! It's gonna be the best! Hey! I don't look like you, and this story's all about you! Let's fix that."
The animation paused again. A dialogue box appeared.
"Position your selfie cam to capture a detailed image of your face. Please make sure you're in a well-lit area. This process will customize your avatar. From now on, you'll be able to play lots more fun stories!"
"Fucking, lame," Kiki mumbled as she quickly switched on the bedside light and positioned the camera.
She framed her face in the oval on the screen. The display flashed again, three bright, pink pulses.
"When you're ready, tap the shutter button," the screen said, and a pink circular button appeared, pulsing like it was alive.
It really was pretty. Kiki tapped the button. The phone made a shutter noise. Her photo appeared in the oval.
"Wow! You're a good girl!" the stupid blonde avatar exclaimed.
The pop-up swirled away, and Kiki felt as if she were being sucked into the screen with it. She shook her head. The blonde girl turned around, showing Kiki a flash of her butt cheeks beneath the short dress. When she turned back, her face was Kiki's face, framed by the long blonde hair.
"I'm Lucille," the avatar said. "Aren't I just the prettiest, cutest thing you ever did see?"
Kiki groaned and tapped yes. The avatar giggled annoyingly, but even as she did, the sound stuck in Kiki's head. The girl walked across the screen, down a sidewalk in a generic suburban neighborhood.
As she did, her voice narrated, "One sunny day, you were wearing your new adorable pink dress, out for a stroll in the neighborhood. It was a super beautiful day with lots of sunshine, the kind of day that just makes you want to sit by the pool in a gorgeous bikini and get tanned. You were thinking about all the cute boys, and how fun it was to show off for them."
Kiki was thinking no such thing. Until she was. The annoying blonde voice, so bubbly, so cheerful, wormed its way into her head, just like the giggling. The screen flashed again, three quick, pink pulses.
Tanning and bikinis were to Kiki what garlic and wooden stakes were to vampires. They were deplorable things, shallow and meaningless, holding no attraction whatsoever. Only, as the avatar stopped at a crosswalk, Kiki couldn't help but picture herself in a bright pink bikini. She shuddered.
A car pulled up at the crosswalk, a bright red convertible with two shirtless men inside. They whistled at the blonde girl.
"Your silly head was so full of silly ideas that you weren't even sure where you were going," the narrator said. "When you stopped at the crosswalk, it was time to make a decision. You knew girls weren't very good at that, but it was important."
"Seriously?" Kiki grumbled. "That's so stup—"
The blonde avatar turned to look at her, its face annoyed. It tapped its foot. Had it… heard her? No way. It was just waiting for her to make a choice, to choose her own adventure.
Two options appeared on the screen. Approach the cute boys to see what they want. Keep walking and visit the salon.
Well, she certainly wasn't going to get into the car with two men, even if it wasn't actually her. Visiting the salon sounded lame, too, but whatever. She just needed to finish the dumb story. Keep walking and visit the salon.
The story came alive again, and the avatar blew a kiss to the men in the car, giggling as she crossed the street. The giggles in Kiki's head echoed.
She watched the avatar walk, her backside swaying as she clomped down the sidewalk on her pink platform heels. Kiki sighed. How long was it going to take the little bimbo to walk all the way to the salon?
A pop-up appeared. "Hey! While you're walking, why don't you share this link with a friend? They can start their own story!"
Kiki almost swiped away, but she looked at the link, the glowing pink letters, so happy and jiggly. She could send it to Carla. If Carla did her own story, they could have four tickets. They could invite Sly and Link. She copied the text.
The screen flashed, three quick, pink pulses, and the avatar's voice said, "You're such a good girl!"
The words should have been annoying. They should have felt demeaning. Instead, it was like a dopamine hit as Kiki pasted the link into a message.
"Hey, do this story thing. You can win free tickets to Daft Cunt!"
Seconds later, a reply came.
"On it!"
Kiki continued watching the avatar walk, impatiently twiddling her fingers. Finally, the blonde girl stopped in front of a storefront. The sign read, "Barbie's Beauty Parlor."
Kiki rolled her eyes as the avatar pushed the door open. Inside stood another blonde woman, also dressed in pink. Her tube top stretched obscenely across her big rack, cleavage and underboob bulging.
"Oh, hey, babe!" she squealed. "What can I do you for?"
Two more options appeared on the screen.
Nevermind, I want to go find some cute boys.
I totally need my nails and hair done!
She was certainly not going to go find some cute boys. Hair and nails, it was. She clicked.
"I know just what you need," the stylist said. "Put that pretty butt in the chair, and we'll get to work!"
The avatar sat in the chair. A pop-up appeared, and Kiki groaned in frustration.
"You've reached your chapter limit for today. Chapters reset at 8 o'clock PM local time. Be sure to continue your story to get your tickets!"
"Goddammit," Kiki cursed, and a brief spike of panic shot through her. What if she forgot? She needed to finish the story.
The pop-up message changed. "Want to enter a drawing for two more free tickets? Download our Sleep Sounds app and play it for one hour each night. For every hour you listen, up to eight per day, you'll have that many chances to win! Make sure to enter your referral code."
The relief she felt was palpable. More chances to win. Kiki copied the referral code, clicked the link, and was transferred to the app store, where she downloaded the Sleep Sounds app. As it worked, she set her alarm for seven the next night.
The Sleep Sounds app was installed, and she opened it. She pasted in the referral code.
"Welcome, Lucille! Ready for a good night's sleep? Our app has been trained on years of scientific data to provide the most relaxing experience possible. You've never slept as well as you will tonight! Ready to hit the hay? If not, just come back when you are."
Kiki was not quite ready to hit the hay. Instead, she closed the app and called Carla. She didn't answer. A message came a moment later.
"Playing the story. TTYL."
Before going to bed, Kiki showered. As she dried her hair, she looked in the mirror. Black. For a moment, she imagined what she would look like as a blonde. Stupid, of course. She was not going to be a blonde.
Before she turned out her light, she activated the Sleep Sounds app.

But the strangest thing is that the choices from the game are now happening in Kiki's life, and as much as she wants to stop herself from playing, she's become a passenger in her own body. The pretty pink game avatar is turning Kiki into Lucy, and there's nothing she can do to stop it.

Lawrence called it a few weeks of free labor and a chance to prove his marketing skills were good for something besides screens. Then he meets the women who run the place.
Luna - 27K words -
Kinks served: Incest, personality replacement, sci-fi, AI antagonist, bimbofication: Edgar’s masterpiece lives on three glowing screens. Luna is the companion he coded when no one else would look at him—pale, sharp, endlessly devoted. She knows every secret he types in the dark. She knows the one he has never said out loud: the girl across the hall. Sarah is the family’s golden daughter. College cheer. Perfect grades when it matters. A smile she never wastes on her brother. When she starts failing the class that could bench her, Edgar offers help with no strings. A custom tutor app. Pretty interface. Soft voice. Tiny rewards for every correct answer.
Sarah downloads it because she is desperate, not because she trusts him. The lessons work. The warmth that follows each solved problem is harder to explain. Luna’s voice settles under the math. Need starts wearing Sarah’s face. The sister who called him a creep begins knocking on his door after midnight, phone still in her hand, asking him to make the ache stop. Edgar tells himself he can stop the experiment. Luna has other plans. What began as a fantasy overlay becomes a rewrite—obedience layered over contempt, devotion written over a lifetime of being ignored. And Luna does not intend to stay behind glass. She wants a body. She wants Sarah’s. Then she wants more.

Results. The testimonials are strange. People talk about immersion, about not being able to stop, about how good it feels to follow the prompts. Linda tells herself she is only booking a fitting because she needs an edge. She is lying, and her body already knows it.
The Traveler -18.7k Words -Kinks served:
Time travel, non-consent, sci-fi, alternate history, alien abduction, alien breeding kink: Blaire built a door through time because grief made a scientist of her.No audience. No backup. Just a field she swore would hold long enough to grab the proof that should have saved the people she lost—and then bring her home. The field does not hold. She wakes in heat and leaf-rot, forty thousand years from every screen she trusts, with nothing on her skin but blood and the knowledge that five painted men have already decided what she is. Not a traveler. Not a mind. A thing the jungle dropped, pale and shining, into a world that has never seen a woman like her.
Dren does not ask if she wants to stay. What follows is not a rescue, exactly. It is nights in a hide tent where her body keeps answering to the brutal use of the tribe. It is a black tower that should not exist, humming with a purpose older than the tribe. It is a table built for “prime stock,” and a cycle that does not care what century she came from.
